5.Answer the following questions:
(a) What is the difference between information and communication? Explain with examples.
π Information is the message or knowledge we receive or give, while communication is the process of sending or receiving that information. For example, hearing news on the radio is receiving information, and broadcasting that news to the public is communication. Seeing a red traffic light is information, and stopping the vehicle after seeing it is communication.
(b) What are the sources of information? Classify with examples.
π Sources of information can be natural or artificial. Natural sources include things we observe directly through our senses, like the smell of smoke or changes in weather. Artificial sources are created by humans, such as newspapers, television, radio, books, mobile phones, and the internet. These help us get information from near or far locations.
(c) Mention the types of communication and describe each in brief.
π There are three types of communication: intrapersonal, interpersonal, and mass communication. Intrapersonal communication happens inside a personβs own mind when they think or make decisions. Interpersonal communication happens between two or more people, like face-to-face talking or a phone call. Mass communication happens when information is shared with many people at the same time, like through television, radio, or newspapers.
(d) Name the various parts of a computer. Distinguish between input, output, processing device and storage device.
π Various parts of a computer include the monitor, keyboard, mouse, CPU, printer, speaker, and hard disk. Input devices are used to give instructions to the computer, like the keyboard and mouse. The processing device is the CPU which analyzes the data. Output devices show the result of the work, like monitor and printer. Storage devices save the data, like hard disk and SSD.
(e) Write three similarities and three differences between humans and computers.
π Similarities between humans and computers are: both can receive information, both can store data, and both give results after processing. Differences are: humans can express emotions, but computers cannot; humans can make their own decisions, but computers follow instructions; and humans have creativity, but computers cannot create on their own without programming.
